The Originals” Season 4 has previously been confirmed to return on The CW in 2017, but it seems that its arrival will only be possible after “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 ends.

The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 is scheduled to have its last episode, March 2017. Buddy TV reported that “The Originals” Season 4 episode 8 will be released a week after “The Vampire Diaries” has its conclusion.

Meanwhile, fans are excited about the rumored crossover of some of the characters from “The Vampire Diaries.” It is already confirmed that a new character from “The Vampire Diaries” will be part of “The Originals” Season 4.

TV Line reported that the confirmed character to cross over and visit New Orleans is Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman. He is rumored to appear in “The Originals” Season 4 with a mission to give Elijah (Daniel Gilles) a relic, which could help save the former’s twin daughters. Alaric will be the fourth “TVD” character to appear in “The Originals.” In fact, there are speculations that he will become a regular character on the spin-off series, wherein his role can either be to connect him with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) or with some other new characters in the series.

There are also speculations that Caroline Forbes (Candice King) will follow and a possible reunion with Klaus Mikaelson will happen in “The Originals” Season 4.

In addition, Nina Dobrev may also appear in New Orleans with a different character from that of Elena Gilbert. According to Game N Guide, producers are thinking about bringing Elena back in the finale episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8, although the actress is rumored to have refused to return and instead entertained the idea of crossing over to “The Originals” to conclude her character.

The Originals” Season 4 is said to premiere on March 17, 2017, shortly after the conclusion of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8.

Claire Holt was one of the four Hollywood celebrities to grace the Asia POP Comic-Con Manila that was held August 26th – 28th, 2016. The Australian actress is best known for her role as vampire Rebekah Mikaelson in the hit series “The Vampire Diaries” and its spin-off, “The Originals,” Currently, the 28-year-old actress plays a police officer in the period crime drama “Aquarius” in which she co-stars with former “The X-Files” star David Duchovny.

During her media session with InterAksyon and other media, Claire answered questions mostly related to “The Vampire Diaries” universe and her character.

When asked if she was given the chance to play Elena Gilbert (Dobrev) in the series, who would she want to end up with, Stefan (Paul Wesley) or Damon (Somerhalder)?

“I’d say Stefan, because my character Rebekah also likes Stefan so I have to stay loyal,” she retorted.

In explaining the popularity of “The Vampire Diaries” and other series that deals with the supernatural, Holt said it has something to do with people’s fascination with the unknown.

“I think people are fascinated with what they don’t know or what they don’t experience,” she pointed out.

Claire added that she would love to play anything in the supernatural world.

“They’re fun and different. I love acting so I could be anything, any character,” she declared.

From a personal standpoint, she admitted that she herself believes in vampires, zombies, werewolves and all that “ghost stuff.”

“Hell yeah! I believe in all of that. I love the good conspiracy theory,” she quipped.

As Asia Pop Comic-Con is still largely a comic book convention, even with all the other added attractions, Claire was also asked that age-old fanboy question.

DC or Marvel?

“I have to go with Marvel. I love Marvel,” she declared.

Little Trivia:

She is the fourth performer from the “The Vampire Diaries” universe to come to Manila after Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino.

The Originals” season 4 will be bringing new twists and story arcs when the series returns to The CW this fall, but it may also bring back a fan-favorite character.

Claire Holt, who plays Rebekah Mikaelson in “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals,” recently talked about her character and whether or not she will be making an appearance in season 4.

During an interview with “Access Hollywood“, Holt revealed that she’s open to reprising her role for the fourth season of The CW supernatural drama.
Rebekah only briefly appeared in “The Originals” season 3 finale, but according to the actress, there’s a good chance fans might see her again soon.

“We sort of left it open ended at the end of last season,” she said of the season 3 finale, wherein Rebekah returns to help stop Marcel.

“If all goes to plan, Rebekah will be back,” Holt continued.

The “Aquarius” star also opened up about the cast and crew of “The Originals” and how much she enjoyed working with them.

“It’s really a great part is what it is and I’m so attached to it, and I’m attached to the people I work with, the cast and the crew and everyone involved. It’s really hard to walk away from that so I’m back every opportunity I get,” she told “Access Hollywood.”

Claire Holt chatted with MTV News ahead of Thursday night’s “dangerous” mid-season finale (titled “Savior“), and here’s what she had to say about Rebekah’s frustrating new situation:

MTV News: Holidays are all about family, so we’re happy the Mikaelsons are getting back together this holiday season. We really miss the relationship between Rebekah, Elijah and Klaus. What was it like to reconnect with Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies for this holiday episode?

Claire Holt: “It’s always so wonderful. I really love those boys like family, and we’ve had such a long relationship and we’ve been playing these characters for such a long time. I always have so much fun with them. It’s just such a treat to get to go back and revisit that with them.”

MTV: Not only do we have this deadly Mikaelson family prophecy to worry about, but now the Strix have gone and placed a curse on Rebekah. This is clearly a recipe for disaster. Where is Rebekah’s head at in this episode?

Claire Holt: “She’s certainly very unhinged in this episode, and I think a lot of her craziness is directed at the wrong people. She can’t seem to control it. But she’s frustrated with her circumstances, and she wants revenge on whoever has cursed her family. The Mikaelsons are facing some really hard things, with the prophecy and everything else going on, so there’s a lot to deal with.”

“She would rather not be tricked, which she seems to find herself in that situation quite frequently, or at the bottom of the ocean, or in a coffin. She wants none of that. But her bond with her family seems to be getting stronger. It’s nice to see them put on a united front, as opposed to fighting with each other.”

MTV: We saw Rebekah snap poor Elijah’s neck in the promo. Was there a itsy bitsy part of her that kind of enjoyed that?

Claire Holt: “I think she’s pretty fond of Elijah. I don’t think she was in her right mind when she did that.”

MTV: From an actor’s standpoint, playing a character who’s going progressively mad sounds like the most fun ever.

Claire Holt: “It is the most fun. To get to play the unhinged version of Rebekah may be my favorite. Although, it is quite tough to have to spit evil lines at very nice people, like poor Phoebe [Tonkin], who plays Hayley. I didn’t enjoy having to get into it with her because she’s my friend and that was weird.”

MTV: Rebekah literally throws her off a banister.

Claire Holt: “It was pretty nuts! We have some amazing stuntwomen who help us look good, but I certainly did some myself. It was tough! I ended up with some bruises, but it was really fun. That’s the great thing about the show. We get to do the action, but then we get to really focus on the drama and the more intimate parts of the family relationships, which we get to later on in the episode.”

MTV: Those scenes between baby Hope and her auntie Rebekah are always so wonderful to see. Will we get to see any of that in the midseason finale?

Claire Holt: “I don’t think that she’s had too much time to focus on Hope. There’s a lot of bad stuff going on. But I loved filming the scene where we got to reconnect as a family and enjoy our Christmas tradition. It’s always so nice to film those holiday episodes because the Mikaelsons are a little more grateful and hopeful, as opposed to terrifying or killing people.”

MTV: If she survives this prophecy, do you think Rebekah can find happiness again?

Claire Holt: “I hope so. I hope for her sake. I think a lot of it comes from within. She’s faced a lot of demons, and some of them are her family and part of them are her own and in the outside world. I hope she gets there. I’d like to see her find it.”

MTV: Are you down to return for more episodes in the future?

Claire Holt: “I am always open to playing Rebekah. I love her. Whenever my schedule and their creative vision line up, I’m ready, willing and able.”

MTV: And finally, we have to know if there’s some secret Aussie club over at The CW because there are so many Aussies on the network these days. There has to be some sort of secret coalition.

Claire Holt: “I think we just don’t take no for an answer is probably what it is. [Laughs] We have a great relationship on set. There’s so many Australians on the show now. There’s Rebecca Breeds and Andy [Lees] and Ollie Ackland and Phoebe and myself. There are a lot of Aussies on “The Originals.” It’s nice because we’re so far away from home, so to get to spend time with people who grew up like you and understand the crazy things you say — you can call it a capsicum and not a red bell pepper — that’s really fun.”

“The thing that we talk about a lot is how you have to change what you say so people understand you, but it’s nice just to be able to speak our own language.”

Something to look forward to in the Originals Season 3 is flashbacks and Claire Holt’s return as Rebekah, and executive producer Michael Narducci told E! News that they’re lucking out with her schedule to make that work – and they’re looking to bring her back for more and not just in flashbacks.

“Claire is phenomenal and we love to have her on the show. We’ve got a whole flashback storyline that she will participate in, and then we have some ideas on how we might see Rebekah again in present day in both bodies. Not at the same time!”

The Originals Season 3 premieres Thursday, October 8 at 9 p.m. on the CW.
